Our Location The city of Mt. Airy, NC is the original Mayberry, a community of about 10,000 people near the Blue Ridge Parkway, not far from the Virginia border. It is the birthplace of actor Andy Griffith, and was the template for the Andy Griffith Show. Mt. Airy was also the home of the famous siamese twins, Chang and Eng Bunker (1811-1874) who toured with the Barnum circus. The world’s largest open faced granite quarry and Jeb Stuart’s home place are also in this area. There are many churches in Mt. Airy following the revivalist tradition, and characterized by strict adherence to the King James translation and the Scofield Study Bible. Christianity is also still something of a cultural establishment in this part of small-town America. Nevertheless, there are almost no churches of the historic Reformed faith and practice in Mt. The church is on the left. If you are coming from 52 take 89 west. Turn left at Hardees on South Franklin Rd. The church is on the left. There might not be a sign for South Franklin Rd.
