Our Salvation We believe the bad news, that we are sinners in need of a Savior to deliver us from the wrath of our righteous God. But we also believe in the good news, that Jesus is our savior sent by the love of our also merciful and gracious God to bear the punishment for our sin on the cross as our substitute. Through faith we trust in Christ alone to reconcile us to God. We invite you to do the same. Repent of your sin, and trust Christ. “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). Our Denomination We are part of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC). The OPC was formed in the 1930’s by J. Gresham Machen as a Bible-believing protest to Theological Liberalism in the Presbyterian Church of the United States of America (PCUSA). Our congregation We consist of 21 households. Including our children we have 90 members as of January 2010. Some of our members live in the vicinity of Mt. Airy. We also have families from Lambsburg, Galax, State Road, Elkin, Westfield, Trap Hill, Pilot Mountain, Winston-Salem, North Wilkesboro, and Lexington. Many of our families with children are involved in home schooling. We have several elderly couples. Some families have adopted children. There are a few very large families. We have some single men and women. Some of our members have been divorced and remarried. We have youth of all ages. We come from diverse denominational backgrounds. Some of our members are originally from the area, but most of us have moved here from elsewhere. What we all have in common is a love for our great Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
